Vows that Wow | Ashley & Riley
Welcome to the June edition of Vows That Wow! Each month, our Wed Society Editorial Team has the privilege of reviewing gorgeous weddings from across the Northern Virginia region. We celebrate weddings that beautifully spotlight a couple’s unique love story, their distinct personalities, and the incredible wedding vendors who bring it all to life. Out of so many stunning submissions, we select just one standout wedding that truly exemplifies thoughtful design and breathtaking detail.
This month, we are absolutely thrilled to celebrate Ashley and Riley! Their unforgettable day was filled with a personalized details that represented their faith, their love story, and celebrated the family and friends around them.
Every detail was chosen with purpose, from handwritten notes for guests and flowers to wear in their hair to hand-painted portraits, complimentary coffee the morning of their wedding, and even lambs to pet during cocktail hour. Their goal was simple: to make every guest feel seen, valued, and loved. It’s a reminder for couples planning a Northern Virginia wedding that thoughtful details often leave the biggest impression.
Their Christian faith served as the foundation for the entire celebration. Inspired by the Garden of Eden, Ashley and Riley designed a wedding day that reflected their beliefs about marriage, love, and community. One of the most memorable moments came immediately after their first kiss, when family and friends joined together in singing “All Glory Be To Christ,” creating a meaningful start to their marriage. Throughout the planning process, the couple leaned on an exceptional vendor team that helped bring every element of their vision to life. Ashley especially appreciated the dedicated seamstresses at White Swan Bridal, who worked tirelessly on her gown until it fit perfectly, ensuring she felt confident and comfortable on her wedding day.
The celebration ended the same way it began: centered on gratitude. During the final dance of the evening, guests from across the country and around the world, including friends who traveled from Australia, gathered together to sing and celebrate. Another guest favorite was live wedding painter Spencer Grace Art, who created hand-painted portraits during the reception that many guests still display in their homes today.
For Ashley and Riley, the experience reinforced an important piece of wedding planning advice: invest in vendors you trust, focus on meaningful details, and allow yourself to enjoy the day you’ve worked so hard to create.
