Tori & Colin’s Bridgerton-Inspired Spring Wedding
Tori has a confession most brides wouldn’t make. “I also tend to find weddings a little boring at times,” she admits. So when it came time to plan her own, she and Colin set out to throw a celebration no guest could possibly find dull, even the ones who had no intention of setting foot on the dance floor.
The couple, who live in West Virginia, married on April 25 at Raspberry Plain Manor in Leesburg, a setting well suited to the old money, Bridgerton-inspired look Tori had in mind. Soft pinks, garden roses and peachy dahlias filled the manor, while bridesmaids in mismatched florals and rose tones gathered around the bride in a tiara and a gown with romantic, voluminous sleeves. A blush invitation suite and a hand-painted acrylic welcome sign set the tone before guests even arrived.
The most memorable details, though, were the ones that felt unmistakably theirs. “My favorite part about the day was how we made everything as personalized as possible,” says Tori. “For example, instead of having a champagne tower, we had a Coke tower because Coke is my favorite drink.” Even the cocktail napkins joined in, printed with an illustration of the couple’s curly-haired dog and the words “Drinks on me!”
The personal touches started with the processional. Tori commissioned the string quartet to arrange a special rendition of the bridal march, woven together with a song from The 12 Dancing Princesses, one of her favorite childhood movies. Later, the newlyweds traded the traditional first dance for a choreographed number to Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On,” which Tori says was her husband’s favorite part of the day.
For guests, the reception felt less like a wedding and more like a very elegant carnival. There was a mini arcade, an illusionist moving from table to table, a cotton candy machine, a dessert table and a custom ice luge pouring limoncello. A live painter sketched guests throughout the evening, giving everyone a keepsake to take home. “A lot of our guests said their favorite part was the live painter,” Tori shares. “Everyone also really enjoyed the arcade and the magician, who kept guests entertained throughout the night.”
And when it was time to dance, the couple honored home. “Since we live in West Virginia we played Country Roads to get the dance floor started and then immediately played Sweet Caroline which is also a staple song for Mountaineers Fans,” she says.
“Overall, the day was very relaxed, and we had an amazing time,” Tori reflects. “I loved that we were able to incorporate so many things that were meaningful to us while also making sure our guests had a fun and memorable experience.”
