When Abby and Van first toured Airlie, they knew it was special—but seeing the historic Warrenton property in full bloom exceeded every expectation. Having their favorite people stay together on-site made the entire weekend feel like one giant celebration.
Their wedding ceremony took place in the Formal Garden. A string trio played modern pop-rock covers as Abby walked down the aisle where Reverend Mary Stone performed their ceremony. Following the cocktail hour, the guests went celebrated at the Pavilion.
Many wedding vendors helped make Abby and Van’s garden wedding dreams come true, but there are a couple that they absolutely loved! They loved their photographer who made the whole photo taking process so fun! They loved running around with them all day getting all the beautiful shots!

“They also knew exactly what they wanted, especially when it came to the overall look and feel of the day. Abby blended bold, modern style with just the right amount of vintage romance. Airy, asymmetrical florals featuring amaranthus and anthuriums brought in a modern touch, while lace details and her grandmother’s veil added sentiment and history. Subtle swan details were included as a nod to the fact that swans mate for life—and, perfectly enough, Airlie’s resident swans made an appearance that day.”
She notes that the vendor team Van and Abby chose really allowed them to be fully present, enjoy their guests, and end the night on a packed dance floor!
When planning their wedding, one thing that Abby learned was to trust herself and focus on the details that felt true to her and Van. She spoke about how it’s so easy to make comparisons to others with social media, but they wanted the day to be representative of their love and their journey to get to their wedding day — Abby said she couldn’t be happier with how her wedding turned out!
